Mountain Biking

Spoilt for choice

There are several rugged mountain biking trails on the estate and the surrounding area suitable for all levels of rider. Low traffic and hard pack single track means the trails are fast and unspoiled.

We also have use of the Gooderson’s Drakensberg Gardens resort trails. The property borders ours and we have permission for all guests to ride there free of charge.

Mountain biking around a world heritage site is definitely bucket list material, just be sure to keep your eyes on the trail.

Come play

You really couldn’t ask for a better place to cycle – awesome weather all year round, breath-taking scenery, varied terrain and very little traffic.

The weather in the berg is, on the whole, great for mountain biking – long summer days with without stifling humidity, crisp winter sunshine which makes being on your bike a treat, gorgeous autumn colouring and mild spring days make it the ideal cycling destination.

The scenery speaks for itself. There aren’t many places in the world where you can enjoy the beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the saddle of your bike. The terrain offers something for everyone – whether its quiet district roads, groomed single track, or gnarly climbs and descents – nobody will leave disappointed. The funny thing is that not many people seem to know about this, and so the mountain bike trails are never over run with cycling traffic.
